Car Magazine is reporting some new insider information on Mercedes’ upcoming solo super car venture, the new Mercedes Gullwing (aka SLC, C/197). Here’s the basic run down of what to expect:

6.3-litre V8 mated to a new “Sportshift” gear box
550bhp and 445lb-ft of torque
0-60 in 3.8sec
Top speed of 185mph
Curb weight: 3,637lbs
48:52 percent front-to-rear weight distribution
20.1mpg
Those specifications place it right in between the Mercedes-McLaren SLR, and the Mercedes SL63 AMG Black Series. However with its low weight, it’s expected to be faster then the SLR and most likely fall in right behind the SL63 AMG Black Series. It’ll most likely compete with the likes of the next generation Porsche 911 Turbo, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 and Ferrari’s upcoming baby Dino/GT.
